After A Slow Start The Rookie Right Hander Has Shown Flashes Of His Potential

Promising Reds Starter Hunter Greene Shows Signs of Improvement

After a slow start, the rookie right-hander has shown flashes of his potential

Greene was the second overall pick in the 2017 MLB draft and is expected to be a key part of the Reds' future

After a promising spring training, Greene struggled out of the gate in his first month in the majors. The 22-year-old right-hander had a 6.23 ERA and 1.65 WHIP in his first six starts. However, Greene has shown signs of improvement in his last two outings, allowing just one earned run in 11 innings pitched.

Greene's fastball velocity has been up in his last two starts and he has also been able to locate his pitches better. The Reds are hoping that Greene can continue to improve and develop into a top-of-the-rotation starter. If he can, he could help the Reds compete for a playoff spot in the NL Central this season.
