Amanda Eloise Vanstone AO (née O'Brien) was born on December 7, 1952. She entered politics in 1984, becoming a Liberal Senator for South Australia.

Political Roles and Accomplishments

Vanstone held various positions during her 23 years in the Senate, including Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations, Minister for Family and Community Services, and Minister for Justice and Customs.

Later Career

After retiring from politics in 2007, Vanstone became Australia's Ambassador to Italy from 2007 to 2010. She has since worked as a columnist and commentator, regularly contributing to publications such as The Australian.
